Super Sativa Seed Club

Super Sativa Seed Club (SSSC) emerged as a pioneering force in cannabis genetics during the 1980s from its Amsterdam headquarters. The organization was established after Karel Schelfhout acquired Original Haze and Skunk #1 stock from "Sam the Skunkman," which he combined with germplasm sourced from Neville's Seedbank. This combination of foundational genetics enabled SSSC to develop an extensive collection and produce several landmark cultivars that would become industry standards. The company achieved widespread recognition following coverage in High Times Magazine, which catapulted them to prominence across international markets. The organization experienced operational difficulties when principal founders separated and a significant portion of their original stock was lost; however, Schelfhout preserved critical genetic material through this transition. Currently operating under the direction of Schelfhout's son Kees, SSSC has restored and expanded its library with traditional Haze characteristics and profiles. The seedbank now distributes diverse offerings spanning multiple seed types—regular, feminized, and autoflowering varieties—with notable cultivars including Karel's Haze, Prima Holandica, Auto Creeper, and Creamy Kees, accommodating various grower requirements and environments. SSSC maintains its standing as an influential breeding operation, holding membership in the High Times Hall of Fame and continuing to shape modern cannabis cultivation practices.
